MISSIONS Statement

Our Mission is to ready people for the family of God

Missions: Reaching the world for Christ

The concept of missions is related to at least three of the top five priorities of West Lynchburg Baptist Church: ministry, evangelism, and discipleship (along with worship and fellowship). Missions training begins early in our church, with programs to educate our children about the biblical basis for missions, to acquaint them with the work of Southern Baptist missionaries around the world, and to provide opportunities for hands-on learning through special projects. Here are some of the missions education opportunities available at West Lynchburg Baptist Church:

Missions: working in the community

West Lynchburg Baptist Church participates in local missions opportunities in South-central virginia as well as some national projects. We participate with several of the Southern Baptist missions organizations like the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering as well as a yearly Operation Christmas Child where we gather shoeboxes full of gifts for families in need. Other service opportunities have included hurricane relief for the victims of Katrina in Port Sulfur and New Orleans, Louisiana.
