What If: We Decide Everyone Matters?

West Lynchburg Baptist Church was established in 1905 by committed believers in Jesus Christ and still stands today as an evangelically conservative Southern Baptist church, numbering over 1,400 members. Since its inception, West Lynchburg has faithfully sought to focus on, develop, and emphasize five essential ingredients of a Christian church: worship (Matt. 4:10; 22:37), evangelism (Matt. 28:19), discipleship (Matt. 28:20; Eph. 4:12-13), ministry (Matt. 22:39; Eph. 4:12), and fellowship (Eph. 2:19). The information found on this web site is intended to familiarize readers with both our orthodoxy (our beliefs) and our orthopraxy (the practice of our beliefs), as we function together to adore our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (worship), to lead the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ (evangelism), to cultivate committed followers of Jesus Christ (discipleship), to meet the spiritual and practical needs of those in our neighborhood, city, region, state, nation, and world (ministry), and to rejoice in the company of one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, who share one common Father, the eternal biblical, triune God (fellowship). We expect you to see these five essential ingredients expressed directly and indirectly in all of our ministry endeavors. Please take the time to explore the ministries described on this web site, and, if you desire further information about our church or its ministries, please contact our church office by phone or electronic mail.
