West Lynchburg Baptist Church is an evangelical Southern Baptist congregation that has been ministering in Lynchburg for over 100 years. Our vision, based upon Matthew 28:18-20, is to introduce people to Jesus Christ (evangelism), and train them to be His followers (discipleship). Our theology could best be described as conservative, striving to be faithful to the timeless truths of the Bible while avoiding the extremes of both liberalism and legalism.Our worship services are a blend of the traditional and the contemporary, including both familiar hymns and modern praise choruses. In our services we strive for doctrinally sound, edifying music which enhances one’s worship experience without compromising or cheapening what we believe worship of our Lord Jesus Christ should be.
